Red Mountain South LID Approved

The Kennewick Irrigation District’s Board of Directors unanimously approved the formation of the Red Mountain South LID.
President Jaksch stated, “This has been a long time coming, the District has been working on this for more than 25-years.”
The system will serve 1,785 acres and is estimated to cost $12,551,740.
The total cost will be repaid through a 25 year construction loan with the following costs:
Capital Cost Repayment based on 25-year at 6% = $550.02/wet-acre/year
Power = $87/irrigated-acre/year
Annual O&M = $91/irrigated-acre/year
Estimated total cost per irrigated acre per year =$728.02
The Red Mountain South LID will fund all of the engineering, financing, administration and construction of a pressurized,
on demand, irrigation distribution system to serve the viticultural/agricultural development of Red Mountain.
