Governor Inslee issued Proclamation 20-28 (https://www.governor.wa.gov/office-governor/official-actions/proclamations) on March 24, 2020, waiving and suspending any in-person requirements in the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and the Public Records Act (PRA) through at least April 23, 2020. The proclamation is intended to reduce unnecessary person-to-person contact to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Pursuant to the order, the Kennewick Irrigation District will only conduct meetings during this time that can be attended remotely. If such a meeting is held, instructions for remote attendance of meeting will be included on the meeting notice and agenda.
Additionally, while no in-person public attendance of meetings is available at KID, the Board of Directors will only take “action,” as defined in RCW 42.30.020, on matters that are either (1) necessary and routine, or (2) necessary to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak and the current public health emergency. All other matters will be postponed until regular meetings may resume
Board meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. but the office building is currently closed to the public. Regular meetings are held at the KID business office at 2015 S. Ely Street in Kennewick, but during the closure, the public may attend via a call in number which will be published with the meeting notice and agenda.
