Algae growth is very high this year due to high temperatures and low water. Kennewick Irrigation District field staff applied an aquatic weed treatment of Endothal last week.

District crews will be working around the clock to manage the debris, but for the next three weeks, as the weeds die they will break loose and move downstream to our coarse weed screens. The screens capture larger debris but smaller pieces of algae may result in clogged screens and filters for our customers.

K.I.D. asks that customers experiencing low or no water pressure first, check their filters and screens.
